Abstract

534,442. Photographic shutters. KODAK, Ltd. Feb. 26, 1940, No. 3545. Convention date, March 14, 1939. [Class 98 (i)] A photographic shutter comprise a plate 9 having an exposure apertur 25 surrounded by an embossing 30 in which engages a complementary embossing 31 on a pivoted shutte blade 22 when the latter is in its position of rest after 'an exposure, the two embossings providing a light lock and serving to prevent rebound of the blade. In the form shown, the blade moves in alternate directions to make the exposures, an embossing 31 being formed at each end. It is operated by a snapover spring 20 tensioned by an arm 15 which is rocked in alternate directions about its pivot 16 by means of a flexible blade 13 carried by an operating slide 12, the blade engaging alternately each of a pair of notches 14 formed in the arm 15. The invention is also described as applied to a shutter comprising a rotary blade operated by a snap-over spring in one direction to make the exposure and in the reverse direction when the trigger is released, a cover plate attached to the trigger masking the exposure aperture during the return movement.
