Roll - film cameras with connected action between shutter and changing mechanism.- In a device for preventing double, exposures and locking the shutter until the film winding - handle is operated, an arced rod el, Fig. 1, movable in a guide e on the lens plate s is normally held by a spring catch z<1> engaging a notch z, against the action of a spring-pressed plunger c<1>. A pivoted blade f may also be connected to the rod c<1> so as to cover and uncover the finder n. On actuating the shutter, a rocking arm g<1> disengages the catch z<1>, and the tensioned spring c<3> moves the plunger c<1> and the rod e<1> into the position shown, so that a projection e2 on the rod intercepts the path of the arm g<1>, preventing another exposure on the same film; the blade f is moved to cover the finder n; and a series of balls m in connected tubes h, b<1> moves a sliding head b<4> against a spring-influenced disc a<1> axially movable on the spool winding-stem a, Fig. 8. When the winding- handle, a<3> is turned on its pivot a<13>, an extension a<x> of the handle depresses the disc a<1> and presses the head b<4>, thereby moving the plunger c<1>, compressing the spring c<3> and resetting the rod e'. The film winding-head comprises two parts a<2>, a<5> connected to the side panel o, an inner part a<7> being secured on a ball-race a' by a collar a<8> and housing the spring a<12> which is compressed when the stem a is retracted to engage the spool. A spring a<4> acting on the disc a' is fitted between the disc and a plate a<10>. The tubes h are jointed in alternative ways and according to the camera construction, and alternate detailed fittings for the arcuate rod and controlling springs are described.
