Abstract

534,255. Liquid levels. UNITED KINGDOM OPTICAL CO., Ltd., and MOORE, J. A. Jan. 9, 1940, No. 500. [Class 97 (ii)] In a spirit level or bubble the top member is ground and polished and the remainder of the liquid container is fused to it. The top member may be of different forms according to the type of level desired. Fig. 2 shows a top member 1 having its upper surface plane and its under surface concave, a cylindrical intermediate member 2 and a bottom member 3 provided with an aperture for filling purposes. The contacting edges are ground true and the members fitted together and fused. If desired the members 2, 3 may be in one part formed in any manner such as moulding prior to fusing to the top member 1.
