[Class 143] Printed records, apparatus for giving.-A recording mechanism for weighing-apparatus comprises an apertured element (for example a weight-responsive disc 10 with three sets 13, 14, 15 of apertures for units, tens and hundreds denominations) and a feeler device (for example, three independent feelers 17) for investigating the apertures, the apertures being continuous in length for a distance at least equivalent to a range of digits of lowest denomination and varying in width with the values of these digits within the range represented by the aperture's length. As shown, the feelers 17 are stepped and during their movement towards the apertured disc set corresponding type wheels 22. If the lowest unit recorded is one gram, the length of each unit's aperture 13 corresponds to a nine-gram movement of the disc 10, the length of each tens aperture 14 to a ninety-gram movement and the length of the aperture 15 (one aperture only) corresponds to a nine hundred-gram movement. The width of each aperture varies to accommodate the digit values lying within the range of the aperture's length.
