Abstract

532,760. Pipe couplings. TURNER, W., and ASKEW, G. Sept. 7, 1939, No. 25182. [Class 99 (i)] In a tyre-valve connector of the doubleended type with two tyre-valve inserting pins for use with twin tyres, whether pushed on and held by hand, or held by clutch members, the double-ended body 1 is formed with a bore 1a provided with recesses 1b to receive rubber or other deformable washers 2, through which extend valve-unseating pins 3a carried by hexagonal members 3 sliding in the bore. When one end is pushed on to a tyre valve, the corresponding pin 3a contacts with and opens the valve, while the head 3 of this pin is moved into contact with the other head 3 so as to press the other washer 2 against its outer seating to prevent leakage of air. In a modification the two members 3 are formed as one. Specifications 336,518, [Class 99 (i)], and 449,931, [Group XXIX], is referred to.
