Abstract

532,641. Toys. BROWN, R. M. Sept. 18, 1939, No. 26069. [Class 132 (iii)] A toy boat fitted to simulate being blown up has a superstructure 11 held down against the action of a spring 18 by a rod 16 attached to it, having a loop 17 to engage a finger 23 on a trigger 21 with a depending projection 24. When the latter engages a frame 50 on an attacked fortress or area 42 the spring 18, freed, blows up the deck 11 with its funnels, masts, and guns, and releases the hammer 31 of a cap-exploding device. A motor 35 drives the boat by winding a string 36 on a drum 37. The frame 50 also acts as a trigger to explode a cap by hammer 47. In a modification the boat is carried by eccentric wheels driven in the usual way by a spring motor and the trigger releases spring 18 when its end 24, by being released from a detent by a pull on a string, hits the ground. A pair of spaced buoys 44 are mounted on the frame 50 of the fortress or island 42 which may be placed in water and the boat may be driven by a propeller. The boat may be drawn along by a string.
