Abstract
532,395. Delivering articles from moulds. SMITH, W. H. July 21, 1939, No. 21283. [Class 87 (ii)] Moulded articles e.g. concrete units, are delivered from a mould by vibrating the mould, whilst supporting the article, in such a manner as to raise the mould from the article. As shown, the mould is inverted upon a table 1 furnished with brackets 4 through which pass rods 6 having upper ends 9 adapted to engage corresponding brackets on the mould and which, through springs 8, resiliently support a platform 7 carrying motors &c. 10 driving an unbalanced rotor. Normally the weight of the filled mould compresses the spring 8 so that the mould rests upon the table; upon operation of the motors 10 the mould is vibrated and raised from the article. A cradle 16 may be interposed between the table and mould and serves to carry off the moulded article ; it may be furnished at one side with prongs to enable the article to be turned on end. The mould and cradle may be furnished with pins for mechanical handling.
