Abstract

532,238. Nozzles. PYRENE CO., Ltd., and HUNTER, J. N. July 21, 1939, No. 21697/38. [Class 69 (iii)] A nozzle for delivering either a jet or spray comprises an inner member 1, and an outer member 3 in the form of a cup to rotate partially around the inner member between two limiting portions, both members being formed with eccentric bores 5, 10 at the same radius from the axis and so shaped that in one limiting position the bore 10 on the outer member wholly uncovers that on the inner member to deliver an unbroken jet, while in the other limiting position the bores are partly in register and present a crescent shaped opening as shown in Fig. 3. The limiting portions are determined by a spring pressed ball 11 entering recesses 9 at the ends of a groove 8.
