Abstract
532,211. Looms. CROMPTON & KNOWLES LOOM WORKS. Aug. 22, 1939, No. 24145. Convention date, June 17. [Class 142 (ii)] Back bearers.-The back rail R of a wide loom is mounted on horizontal slides or carried by links &c. 89, 93 so as to move horizontally, or partly by both as shown in Fig. 1. The slides may be fitted with roller bearing in the form of roller chains 68, the links of which are larger than the rollers so as to engage the sides of rails 70, 78 let into the loom frame 64 and the back bearer bracket 75 and thus prevent end motion of the rail R. The rail R is pressed backwards by bellcranks 50, a rod 48, a lever 43 and a weight 46. As shown in Fig. 8, the links 116, 119 which support the rail R are connected directly by a rod 122 to the weighted lever 43. Specification 529,333 is referred to.
