531,854. Coating printing cylinders. BEKK & KAULEN CHEMISCHE FABRIK GES. Aug. 3, 1939, Nos. 22588 and 22589. Convention dates, Aug. 3, 1938, and July 19, 1939. [Class 95] A printing cylinder c is coated by placing it within a container a, filling the container with a liquid h which, upon drying, forms a photo - sensitive film, and then draining the liquid from the container, preferably at a regulated uniform rate. The cylinder may be placed upon a rubber plate b, and may be weighted, e.g. by a plate d and weight e. To ensure a rapid drying of the film, the cylinder may be heated before or during coating, and the air between the cylinder and container may be agitated, or heated air may be introduced.
