Abstract

531,429. Fusible cut-outs. PATENTVERWERTUNGS-GES. HERMES. July 21, 1939, Nos. 21276 and 21277. Convention dates, July 21, 1938, and Oct. 18, 1938. [Class 38 (i)] A fuse cartridge having a body 1 of glass so that an indicator fuse 6 of foil arranged in parallel with the main fuse 5 can be seen. The foil may be cut to the form of a grid, Fig. 4, and wrapped round a tube 7 of asbestos, porcelain &c. enclosing a filling 4 of quartz, sand, marble grit &c. Rings 8 space the foil from the body 1 and end caps 10 are attached by a screw 2 or bayonet joint. In a moditication strips of foil may be attached to the inside of the glass body and coloured or otherwise marked to indicate the rating or characteristics of the fuse.
