[Class 55 (ii)] [Also in Group XIII] In cooling towers or structures for cooling condensation waters or other hot liquids of the kind in which liquid is delivered from pipes or troughs to fall down the tower up which air rises over superposed tiers of wooden drip rails or laths, the laths 3 are of square or diamond cross section and are made of complementary parts 3a, 3b with their adjoining faces vertical. Each lath is formed by two strips of triangular cross section held together by wire clips 4 to form a diamond resting cornerwise in notches in bearers 2 on standards 1 in the tower. Adjacent lengths of the triangular strip may overlap, and the laths are flexible for bending into curves. Each lath may comprise three strips together forming a diamond.
