531,017. Altering physical structure. JOHNSON & NEPHEW, Ltd., R., ROBINSON, W., and TILGHMAN'S PATENT SAND BLAST CO., Ltd. July 8, 1939, No. 19965. [Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] Making wire. - Wire is submitted during manufacture, and as a final operation, to a bombardment by hard metal or like particles or shot thrown off centrifugally by a high speed wheel, the wire travelling continuously through the operation zone. The surface hardness and resistance to fatigue are improved and the wire is suitable for the manufacture of rope, springs &c.
