[Class 97 (i)] A projector adapted for films of different widths has detachable and interchangeable sprockets, and pressure rollers carried by cradles that may be rotated so as to bring into operative position rollers appropriate to the sprockets in use ; the gate may comprise detachable and interchangeable film guides and pressure plates, and removable bosses on the spool spindles may correctly locate the film spools. Figs. 3 and 5 show a 16mm. sprocket 5 held against a collar 7 on the spindle 3 by a finger unit 9 on its reduced threaded end 8, and also pressure rollers 13, 14 carried by a cradle 11 rotatable on a spindle 12 carried by links 15 pivoted on an arm 16 and pressed towards the sprocket by a spring 17. The rollers 13 are grooved so as to co-operate both with 16 mm. and with 9.5mm. sprockets on the spindle 3, and the rollers 14 similarly cooperate with 8mm. sprockets. Fig. 7 shows a gate member 18 having a track 19 and projection aperture 26 appropriate to a 16mm. film, and a hinged pressure-plate carrier 23. Detachable track members 20, 21 for narrower films may be alternatively secured on the member 18 by staggered pins entering holes 22, and pressure plates 29, 30, 31 may be alternatively secured to the carrier 23 by headed pins 33 entering slots 27, 28 ; the pins 33 carry springs engaging washers 35 pressed against the carrier 23. Bushes 42, Fig. 8, having faceted or circular flanges 40 may be provided on the spool spindles as adapters for spools for narrow films; pins 43 may extend from the flanges 40 into a hole in the usual collar 41.
