Abstract
527,843. Cathode-ray tubes. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE. April 21, 1939, No. 12008. Convention date, April 22, 1938. [Class 39 (i)] In a television transmitting-device comprising a cathode-ray tube with a luminescent screen scanned by the beam to furnish a source of light for scanning the object to be transmitted the screen is cooled to regulate the duration of the afterglow. Fig. 1 shows an opaque screen 5, preferably with a backing of copper or other good conductor of heat, over which water is circulated through pipes 7, 8 and a spreading- nozzle 9. When a transparent screen is employed it may form one side of a glass trough containing cooling-liquid. The liquid may be circulated through the trough and over cooling-pipes, or liquid air may be employed. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts describes an air-cooled screen. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
