527,807. Gas holders. WALKER, Ltd., C. & W., and BEARD, G. F. H. April 21, 1939, No. 11972. [Class 54] A telescopic gas holder in which an inclined staircase 1 having treads radial to the holder is supported by a framework 4 on the top flange 3 of each lift is provided at the outside of the staircase with a byepass gallery 5 at a short distance above the flange 3 so as to enable an operator to step from the staircase on to the gallery and later, using the hand-railing 7 as a ladder, descend to the flange 3 to examine the guide-rollers. The gallery may extend wholly or partially round the holder.
