Abstract

526,844. Conveyers. LARRIEU, H., and ETABLISSEMENTS LARRIEU LA GIRONDINE. March 27, 1939, No. 9504. [Class 78 (i)] In bottle-washing machines of the kind in which the bottles are supported in an inverted position in cups linked together to form a chain conveyer, each cup is formed with a bearing which fits over and pivots on the adjacent cup. Fig. 1 shows two links of such a conveyer chain, each comprising an L-shaped fitting 5, 6 carrying two bottle cups 3 and furnished with the bearing 8 on a downwardly offset part of the arm 5. This bearing is passed over the cup situated at the junction of the arms of the next link. A stud 10 passes through the slot 9 during the assembling process and engages the under side of the bearing to prevent vertical displacement of the links. The stud never reaches the point where it registers with the hole 9 when the apparatus is in use. Various other arrangements of cups on the links are illustrated, including variation in the angle between the arms 5, 6 and in the number of cups carried by the arms.
