Abstract

271,377. Jorgensen, A. W. Feb. 15, 1927. Bottles, cleaning.-The bottles are placed over tubes 16 carried by the links of an intermittently moved chain and are sprayed externally by overhead jets 14 and internally by upwardly-directed jets 17 which register with the tubes when the chain is temporarily stationary. To ensure correct registration the lower jet tubes are divided into groups, one group only being shown in Fig. 2, and each group is adjustable in position as a whole, the tubes being connected at one end to a slidable header 19 and being carried at the other end by a similarly-mounted block. The bottles are transferred to a continuouslyoperated conveyer l, Fig. 5, by a pair of coacting, cam-actuated counterweighted levers h, m. Tiltable guides s prevent jamming of the apparatus.
