Abstract

524,999. Refrigerators. BERWICK, F. W., BERWICK, A. G., and NON - DRIP MEASURE CO., Ltd. Jan. 18, 1939, No. 1810. [Class 29] Apparatus for cooling water, beer &c. in flow to a dispensing tap, particularly applicable to the supply of cooled water to dilute syrups &c. dispensed from apparatus as described in Specification 491,376, comprises an insulated chamber 1 containing a bath of brine or water in which are immersed a flat spiral evaporator coil and a double serpentine coil 3 through which passes the liquid to be cooled. The coil 3 is spaced from the bottom of the chamber by fins 24 and from the evaporator by fins 16. and the upper stretches are staggered in relation to the lower stretches. An expansion valve 6 is controlled by a thermal element 8 on the outlet of the evaporator coil at the centre, and the motor of the refrigerating machine is controlled through a switch 13 by a thermal element 32 on the inlet 18 of the water coil.
