j 4 claim.l (ci. ca -128)v Thisinvention relates to a -beverage cooling device of the character set forth in my copending application med July 12, 1937,-'seria1 No. 152,273, and has for the primary object the provision of 'a power driven means for the positive circulation of .the cooling fluid of the device and including means whereby the cooling uid will be caused to circulatein a selected path with rela,- tion to the chilling coils of a refrigerating device to aidin-the removal of frost and ice formation from the chilling coils andthereby assure a more emcient chilling of the cooling liquid ein-'- ployed for the chilling of the beverage and the purified air under pressure used for the expulsion of the beverage.
With these and other objects in view, this invention consists in certain novel features ofcoustruction, combination and 'arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
' For a complete understanding of my-invention,
reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, in which.
Figure 1 is a fragmentary vertical sectional View illustrating a beverage cooling and dispensing device constructed in accordance `with the present invention. Y.
Figure 2 is a. fragmentary' sectional view illusl trating a portion of the flume which receives portions of the chilling coil and acts in the directing of the cooling iiuid in a selected path.
Referring in detail to the drawing, the numeral I indicates a tank substantially filled with a cooling liquid 2 and having a Iremovable cover 3 and located on supporting legsl. Chilling coils' 5 arev arranged inthe container I immersed in the liquid 2 and form part of a mechanical refrigerating system (not shown) wherein the leads of the chilling coils lare indicated by the character I and are shown extending through certain walls of the container. Arranged within the container I and within and spaced from the chillingl coils 5 are beverage cooling coils l, the outlet leads 8 thereof being shown extending through a wall of the container and. provided lwith faucets 9. The inlet leads I0 or the beverage cooling coils fl' connect with taps II and the latter are adapted to beverage containers I2. 'I'he taps II are also connected to an air pressure ymanifold I3 by pipes I4, control valves I5 being provided in the pipes I4. An air filterl I6 of the liquid type is located in the container I and immersed inthe cooling liquid 2 and has.
` fold I3 so that puried' and' cooled under pressure will be delivered to the manifold Il and thence to the contents of the beverage containers 'I2 for .placing the beverage under pressure to be expelled through the chilling coils 1 when theA 5 faucets 9 are opened. While the drawing shows the air filter in a -certain location in the container I it is to be understood that it may have 4 other selected positions.
To bring about a circulation of the cooling 10 iiuid 2 in the container I a circulating power driven pump I8' is provided, the inlet pipebeing Indicated by the character I9 and the outlet pipe Y by thecharacter 2l bothof which extend into vthe cooling liquid. 'I'he outlet pipe 20 terminates 15 i In a trough or flume 2| arranged on the bottom of the container I and which has therein several convolutions of the chilling coils, as shown in Figure'Z, so that the cooling liquid forced by the A pump I8 passes through the trough rapidly con- 20 tacting the chilling coils and then circulating completely about within the container I which brings about a thorough cooling of the cooling fluid which in turn cools the beverage-coils 'I and `their contents as Well as cooling the air under pressure passing through `the filter and further aids in removing frost and ice formations from the chilling coils.
Itis to be understood that some other means than-that heretofore described and shown in the drawing may be employed for the circulation oi the cooling fluid 2 and still obtain the desired results by thisdevice.
What is claimed is: y V
l. A beverage'dispensing device comprising a 35 container having therein a cooling liquid, chilling coils of a refrigerating device immersed in said liquid, beverage dispensing coils immersed'in said liquid, means including taps for connecting said dispensing coils to beverage receptacles, con- 4 trol faucets connected to said beverage dispensing coils and arranged exteriorly of said container, means connecting said taps to an air pressure supply, a trough arranged in the container and immersed ln the liquid with certain convolutions of the chilling coils therein, and means for agitating the liquid in the trough.
2. A beverage dispensing device comprising a container having therein a cooling liquid, chilling coils of a refrigerating device immersed in 50 said liquid, beverage dispensing coils immersed in said liquid, means for connecting said beverage dispensing coils to beverage receptacles. control faucets connected to said beverage dispensing coils and arranged exteriorly ofthe container, air 55 purifying means immersed in said liquid, means connecting said puriiier to an air pressure supply, means connecting said purier to said beverage receptacles, a trough arranged in the container and immersed in the liquid with certain convolutions of the chilling coils therein, and a power driven pump including inlet and outlet pipes extending into the container and the liquid thereof with the outlet pipe terminating in the trough.
3. A beverage dispensing device, comprising, a container having therein a cooling liquid, chilling coils'of a refrigerating device immersed in said liquid, beverage dispensing coils immersed in said liquid, means including taps for connecting said dispensing coils to beverage receptacles,
control faucets connected to said dispensing coils and arranged without said container, means connecting said taps to a puried air pressure supplywithin said container, a trough arranged in the container and immersed in the liquid with certain convolutions of the chilling coils therein,4 and a power driven pump including inlet andoutlet pipes lextending into the container and the liquid thereof with the outlet pipe terminating in the trough for agitating the liquid therein.
4. A Adevice of the character described, comprising, a container having therein a4 cooling liquid, a beverage cooling coil within said container, a refrigerant coil within said container, an air purifier within said container, a trough in said container and immersed in said cooling liquid with certain of the convolutions of the refrigerant coil therein, and a pressure conduit extending into said container and terminating in theftrough for agitating the liquid therein.
