[Class 59] In an impact pulverizer the impact members; carried by the body member on the shaft, are secured to the body by means of wedges which are thrust centrifugally against portions of the impact members during rotation thereof. As' shown in Figs. 1, 2 a rotor 17 mounted on a shaft 14 is provided with annular side discs 21 which are recessed at 24 at the edges to receive lugs 27 projecting from a beater plate 26 bearing against radial projections 19 on the rotor. The lugs 27 are locked in the recesses 24 by wedges' 28 movable outwardly by centrifugal force to press the lugs 27 against the sides of the recesses. The wedges may have a part 31, Fig. 2, overlapping the discs 21 and secured thereto by a bolt 32 which may also secure removable wear plates 34 to the disc adjacent 'the beater. The beaters may be strengthened by ribs on the back, these ribs engaging in recesses in the radial projection 19. The rib may be central as shown at 62, Fig. 8, the carriers 63 being recessed to facilitate machining or parallel ribs 65, Fig. 10, may be formed at the edges of the'beater. In a further modification the back of the plate is provided' with diagonal recesses which prevent distortion of the plate due to wear. The roller bearings 9, Fig. 3, supporting the rotor are mounted in rubber sleeves 6 and.the casing 37, 38 is provided with circular flanges 42 adjacent the edges of the discs 21. The rotor is housed in a box-like casing provided with a hinged door 45, and with removable impact plates 49, Fig. 1, against which the material is thrown by the beaters 26 after falling down. a shoot 43.
