521,462. Dashboards for aircraft. DE LA RUE & CO., Ltd., T., and PARKER, E. (Representative of PARKER, H. C.). Nov. 18, 1938, No. 33654. [Class 4] [Also in Group XXXI] A dashboard for motor vehicles and aeroplanes is moulded of synthetic or natural resin and is secured to the vehicle frame by means hidden when the dashboard is in position, some at least of the securing means being so arranged as to allow a limited variation of position of the points of connection between the dashboard and the frame. In the construction shown the dashboard 1 is secured at its upper part by screws (not shown) engaging nuts 5 allowed a limited amount of play in grooves 6 formed in bosses 7 at the back of the dashboard. The nuts are held in the grooves 6 by means of plates 8 fastened by screws 9, the plates being slotted at 10 to allow the securing screws to pass freely therethrough. The lower part of the dashboard is secured by screws engaging bushes 12 located in bosses 11. Strengthening webs 14 are provided. Holes 2 are provided for clock, speedometer &c. and holes 3 for pockets.
