Abstract

521,412. Logs. OTTWAY & CO., Ltd., W., JACKMAN, G. H., and NEWBERY, G. M. Nov. 16, 1938, Nos. 33362/38 and 23788/39. [Class 97 (ii)] In an electrical log of the impeller type the housing comprises compartments divided or separated by a partition in the direction of length of the impeller spindle and a magnet is driven by reduction gearing to approach and recede from the partition on the other side of which is a follower connected to a make and break switch. The impeller shaft 4 rotates through a worm 6 and worm wheel 7 a magnet 8 which as it approaches the watertight partition 2 attracts the armature 10, 11 pivoted at 12 in a frame 13. The armature 10, 11 is attracted against the action of a spring 15 and makes contact at 19 in an electric circuit. As the magnet 8 recedes the contact is broken by the spring 15. The frame 13 is pressed against the partition 2 by a spring plunger 17. Specification 323,198, [Class 97 (ii)] is referred to.
