Abstract

521,211. Insecticides. DOW CHEMICAL CO. Nov. 11, 1938, No. 32893. Convention 'date, Dec. 2, 1937. [Class 81 (i)] An insecticidal dusting composition consists of a major proportion of ligno-cellulosic flour of smaller particle size than 100 screen mesh as carrier, and a small amount. of a dinitrophenolic toxicant intimately mixed with the flour. The flour is preferably walnut-shell flour or redwood tree bark flour. The toxicant is preferably 2 1 4-dinitro-6-cyclohexyl phenol, dinitro - cresol, 2 1 4 - dinitro - 6 - tertiary - butyl phenol, 2 1 4 - dinitro - 5 - isoamyl - phenol, 2 1 4 - dinitro-6-secondary-octyl phenol or dinitronaphthol.. The size of the flour is preferably' between 300 and 400 screen mesh.
