Abstract
521,098. Inflammable-gas detectors. OLD, HAM & SON, Ltd., HOLT, H., and ROBERTS. A. O. Nov. 7, 1938, No. 32236. [Class 1 (i)] An inflammable-gas detector comprises two bi-metallic strips d, f which when heated by gas burning on a catalytic filament c contact each other thereby short-circuiting a solenoid band so opening a switch h in the circuit of the lamp i. The switch is shunted by a resistance k permitting the lamp to burn with diminished brightness. A non-catalytic filament e may be placed in proximity to the second bi-metallic strip.
