Abstract

520,221. Bricks &c. WILLIS, E. E. Nov. 15, 1939, No. 30123. [Classes 20 (iv) and 87.(i)] A built up structure, Fig. 5, more particularly an air-raid shelter, comprises a plurality of cast or moulded hollow elements, Fig. 2, of concrete or other material including cast iron, of uniform shape and interfitting so that no b'onding is required. ,The elements are provided on their upper and lower surfaces with alternating peripheral projections b and recesses c, some of the projections extending in a longitudinal direction and others laterally. A centrally arranged partition d may be added. Cover plates such as a, Fig, 1, are also used at'top and bottom in the structure which may be filled with sand.
