Abstract

520,219. Bottles &c. STOOP, L. F. July 12, 1938, No. 17607/39. [Class 125 (i) ] A construction to prevent drip from bottles and like receptacles comprises either an extension of the neck or an insertion therefore made of glass or moulded material. The device is formed on the inside with a shallow outwardly flared surface 1 terminating at an upper edge 2 and with an outer surface 3 outwardly and downwardly inclined at an acute angle and a lower surface 4 again inclined at an acute angle and meeting the top outer surface of the bottle neck. This arrangement of surfaces with a sharp edge 5 between the surfaces 3, 4 and with the surface 4 frosted or otherwise treated to alter its physical characteristic has been found a remedy against drip whilst the shallow and solid construction of the neck or insertion allows the device to withstand strain in capping and cleaning.
