Abstract
519,077. Men's collars. SHEPHERD, T. L. Sept. 14, 1938, No. 26851. [Class 141] Multi-ply collars having the lock ends covered by separate pieces of material are curved so as to facilitate manufacture by machinery, the parts being secured by adhesive. As shown, the backing a, Fig. 1, having a fold line b', is placed on the facing material b which is large enough to provide a double turning except in the regions A B. A single turning is made along the longitudinal edges p, q and the ends r of the collar, and a further turning at the ends of the collar and in the said regions after which a piece of facing material e, Fig. 3, with the edges g turned in, is secured to the lock ends. The final turning is then made on the longitudinal edges. In a modification, the pieces e are extended along the edges r. Specifications 481,015, [Group VIII], 491,492 and 515,191 are referred to.
