518,699. Golf clubs. STEINWAY, J. E. Sept. 20, 1938, No. 27430/38. [Class 132 (ii)] A golf club shaft of substantially ovate cross section having the major axis X of the section extending in the arc of swing has the front wall 15 oi 'flattened elliptical form with the major axis transverse, the medial point of the front wall being distant less than half the width of the shaft from the transverse axis. The rear wall 16 is of elongated elliptical form having its major axis coinciding with the major axis of the cross section o; the shaft.- The lower par 12 of the shaft is preferable round and the ovate sectior extends to the upper part o the shaft. '
