518,158. Antioxidants for rubber . &c. CLAYTON, T. A. (United States Rubber Co.). Jan. 12, 1939, No. 1002. [Class 70] [Also in Groups III and IV] Rubber and similar oxidizable substances are preserved against oxidation by incorporating a diarylamine compound of the general formula : in which R and R, are aryl groups which may be substituted, A is an alkenyl group, X is hydrogen or an alkenyl group and y is hydrogen, -NO or -NH2. About 0.1-5.0 per cent. is used. Examples are, allyloxy-diphenylamines, allyloxy-dimethyl acridane, crotyl oxy diphenylamine and allyloxy-diphenyl-nitrosamine.
