518,106. Tempering glass. STRAUSS, B. Sept. 17, 1938. No. 27200. Convention date, Sept. 18, 1937. Drawings to Specification. [Class 56] A glass sheet or other article is formed before tempering with grooves or recesses, on one or both surfaces, to enable it to be divided into smaller portions after being tempered. The grooves may be formed by any known means, and the sheet may be suspended during tempering by engaging the tongs in the grooves or in a part of the glass which is removed later. A large plate may be supported along all its four edges by resilient pull rods attached to a metal frame.
