Abstract

515,003. Reinforced concrete. ZITKEVIC, N. May 17, 1938, No. 14745. [Class 70] [Also in Group X] Pieces of thin, flexible, soft-iron wire, which are 10 to 15 cms. in length and substantially 1 mm. in diameter, are uniformly distributed throughout a concrete mass in order to increase the tensile and shearing strength of the latter. The nature of the wires is such that they become deformed during mixing with the concrete and conform to the shape of the stone ballast in the concrete. 50 kgs. of the wire pieces are distributed through 1 cubic metre of concrete containing 400 to 600 kgs. of cement. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 2957/92, [Class 70].
