Abstract

514,836. Snap-action switches. CRABTREE & CO.. Ltd. J. A., McLOUGHLIN, H. F., and HARRISON, B. G. May 17, 1938, No. 14637. [Class 38 (v)] A tumbler switch comprises spring toggle mechanism in which a spring influenced lever disposed between the dolly and a contact carrying rocker has cam engagement with the bridge on both sides for providing a positive drive, which engagement is made throughout the operation of the switch. The dolly f and contact carrying rocker h are pivoted at e to the bridge b which carries abutments a. A cam member c has trunnions j which engage holes in the contact carrying member h 'and a part k through which passes a lever l pivotally mounted at m to the dolly and carrying a spring o which is compressed between the pin m and the cam member c. Surfaces on the member c engage the abutments a continuously and provide a positive drive throughout the make and break operation of the switch.
