Abstract
514,801. Water - waste - preventers combined with closets. CARLSSON, O. G. May 25, 1938. Nos. 15621 and 15662. Convention dates, May 27, 1937, and March 30, 1938. [Class 26] A closet bowl is flushed by one or more siphons 9, 16 filled from a chamber 10 below a water container 4 on manual operation of a valve 11. The valve 11 is hollow and normally remains raised until the container empties, A small hole 15 in its lower end allows water to enter to return the valve to its seating should the normal flushing period be exceeded due to obstruction of the bowl or should the chamber 10 become filled due to valve leakage. During refilling water is supplied to the main siphon 9 through a branch pipe 18 on the silencing tube 8 until the float 5 closes the filling valve 6 when communication is established to the atmosphere through a small hole 20 in the tube 8. A similar branch pipe 19 may feed the rimflushing siphon 16 or the latter may incorporate an overflow passage 21, Fig. 1, in place of the normal overflow 22, Fig. 2.
