Abstract
514,697. Fuse contacts. COSWAY, G. P., and HAZELTINE, C. A. May 13, 1938, No. 14273. [Class 38(v)] A disconnecting link comprises a pair of spaced plates 13 adapted to bridge a pair of conductors 27. The plates 13 are carried by a body part 26 to which is screwed a detachable insulating handle 24. A backing piece 11 has a shank 14 which passes through the plates 13 and between the limbs 19 of a backing piece 10 in which is mounted a spindle 20 having an eccentric part 21 which engages a hole in shank 14. Rotation of spindle 20 thus cramps the plates 13 into engagement with the fixed contacts 27. Movement of spindle 20 may be effected by means of a screwdriver 23 on detachable handle 24. A pin 28 engages a stop 29 to limit movement of spindle 20. Modifications are described in which the plates 13 are the end contacts of fuses.
