Abstract

513,139. Manures. KUHNLENZ, L. April 2, 1938, No. 10139. Convention date, April 20, 1937. [Class 111] Manure is produced from unstagnated sewage by depositing it in a layer on a relatively thick foundation of humus-containing material, the deposited layer being about one third the thickness of the foundation, but a maximum thickness of 40 cms, not being exceeded. A hot fermentation results with consequent evaporation of water, after which fresh layers of sewage are successively deposited under similar conditions. The foundation layer may comprise the product of the invention, a compost heap, or the product obtained by the process of Specification 423,291.
