512,993. Anti-dazzle screens for vehicles; goggles. MARTINEK, A. March 26, 1938, No. 9345. [Class 103 (ii)] [Also in Group XX] An anti-dazzle device for attachment to the windscreen of a vehicle, or to the person of the driver of a vehicle or a pedestrian comprises at least two relatively small spaced screens adapted to be positioned at an angle to the straightahead line of vision of the observer.' Thus, the screens 24, 25, 26, Figs. 11, 12, are attached to vertical spindles rotatably mounted between the horizontal members of a frame 54 hinged to brackets 56 secured to the windscreen. The frame may be adjustable laterally. The screens may be oval in form and mounted on spindles each provided with turning-knob 70, Fig: 13, and a toothed-wheel adapted to be held in position by a spring-pressed steel ball 68. In a modification, the spindles are mounted in a frame 72, Fig. 14, and are adjustable in the manner of the slats of a venetian blind, although they may be adjustable individually. The screens, when adapted to be attached to the persons of the user may be mounted in a wire spectacle frame. The screens may be tinted or opalescent, or formed of layers of differently tinted glass, celluloid, or material known under the Registered Trade Mark " Cellon." The transparency of the screens may increased from the centre to the periphery.
