[Class 37] [Also in Group XXIV] A clamping device for securing an article 5, particularly a vanesystem of a variable condenser, on a shaft 4 or the like, comprises a split ring 2, secured in the article at one end by a pin 6, and contracted on the shaft by a screw 8, acting tangentially on its other end. The shaft 4 may be hollow or may be of glass, quartz or ceramic material. In the application to condensers, sleeves carrying the sets of vanes, are secured to their spindles by clamping rings as above.
