[Class 44] [Also in Group XIV] A band clip device for attaching articles to a support comprises a band portion 1 adapted to encircle and grip the article, the band being attached to the flanges of a channel-section base member 4 adapted to be secured to the support, not shown, and to which the tightening bolt 11 is applied. As shown in Fig. 1 the band (which may be continuous) is welded or riveted to side wings 6 on the flanges 5 of the base, which is slotted longitudinally at 7 to facilitate contraction when the tightening nut is operated. The ends 8 of the slot may be enlarged, and receive attaching screws, for which slots 9 may also be provided. In place of welding or riveting the band may have hook-like ends engaging corresponding hook-like beadings on the flanges 5, or the bolt 11 may be passed through registering apertures in the band and flanges, as in Fig. 7, which also shows the channel member inserted between the ends of the band and provided with perforated flanges 16 for attachment to the support. A cam device may be used in place of a tightening nut, and the band may have a form other than circular.
