Abstract
512,626. Draught - excluders for doors STEVENS, A. H. (Raysteel Specialties, Inc ). March 8, 1938, No. 7234. [Class 20 (iii)] The vertically-sliding draught-excluding strip 15 is actuated by rocking levers 25 mounted on hollow pivots 26, the pivots extending through the side walls 18, 19 of the casing in which the draught - excluder is mounted and also accommodating the screws by which the device is secured to a door. The sealing strip may consist of a length of sponge rubber 24 mounted in a holder 23, and the latter may have curved end pieces 24a for guiding purposes: The rocking levers shown have pin-and-dot connections with the strip and are pivoted to the spring-controlled bar 31, one end of which projects through the casing and is adapted to contact with a striker-plate on the door frame. In a modification, the levers are in the form of cams which bear against the upper surface of the strip, and pairs of mutually inclined springs are connected to the strip and to brackets in which the bar 31 slides.
