512,181. Dental instruments and appliances. WEIGELE, E. B. June 23, 1938, No. 18697. Convention date, July 5, 1937. [Class 81 (ii)] An apparatus for use in dentistry comprises a pin provided with means for mounting in within the mouth of the patient and a guide for a dental instrument pivoted on the pin so that the instrument may be moved to different places about the pin as axis. The pin 1 is supported by a cross piece 2 and caps 3 Fig. 3 engaging sound teeth, or, if one side of the mouth is edentulous, by an arm projecting from a single cap. A dental instrument, e.g. a drill as shown in Fig. 5, is guided by a block 7 slidably mounted on a guide rail 6 carried by a sleeve 4 on the pin 1. The device may also be used as a support for a sleeve 14 formed as part of an impression tray 13, Fig. 7.
