Abstract

511,902. Multiplex systems. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Oct. 31, 1938, No. 31443. Convention date, Oct. 30, 1937. [Class 40 (iv)] In a system employing different frequency ranges for the two directions, the side circuits of a star cable provide the lower frequency channels for one direction, while the phantom circuit provides the higher frequency channels for the other direction. To compensate for the increased attenuation of the higher frequencies, an additional repeater is inserted in the phantom circuit midway between each pair of repeater stations, and low-pass filters N are included in the side circuits at that point.
