Abstract

511,104. Electric insulating tape. UNITED STATES RUBBER PRODUCTS, Inc. Sept. 6, 1938, No. 26007. Convention date, Sept. 9, 1937. [Class 70] [Also in Group VIII] Electric insulating tape is made by forming a sheet of or calendering on to a fabric a mixture of rubber and an elastic high molecular weight polymer of isobutylene. Fillers such as whiting or zinc oxide, colours, and tack-producing agents or softeners such as cumar resin may be added. A slight vulcanization of the product may be obtained by adding small quantities of sulphur and litharge or other accelerating agent.
