[Class 65 (i)] A stay for a lid 11 comprises two jointed arms 13, 14 pivoted respectively to the receptacle 10 and lid, the arm 14 having pivoted thereon a multi-toothed pawl 21 co-acting with a fixed ratchet 20 on the lid, so that the lid may be supported in different positions. Means are provided for resisting the turning movement of the pawl when engaged with the ratchet.
