Abstract

508,706. Dart-boards. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and VAUGHAN, G. Jan. 14, 1938, No. 1284. [Class 132 (iii)] A dart-board comprises a number of similar separate detachable sections, each section comprising a metal shell filled with material to form a playing surface. Each section comprises a metal sector 3 which is filled with fibres and closed by a wood or other block 5, a number of such sections being assembled round a centre block 7 and surrounded by a circumferential band to form the complete board. The radial sides of the sectors are corrugated so that adjacent sectors interlock as shown in section in Fig. 4. The radial sides are also beaded over as shown to overlap the sides of the adjacent sectors to form radial boundary lines and to prevent the entry of darts between the sectors. Notches 10 may be left in the beaded edges to take circular marking wires, or sections of such circular wires may be secured in each unit. The sections are held during filling in a jig, Fig. 6, the fibres being trimmed with a knife after filling.
