Abstract
508,320. Making wafer biscuits. ASKEYS PREMIER BISCUIT CO., Ltd, TEDESCHI, A., and BURTON, E. W. Jan. 15, 1938, No. 1427. [Class 28 (i)] In apparatus for making cornet biscuits, the trimmer-ring 9 is so dimensioned that when the ring enters the recess 10, a small clearance, e.g., one-sixteenth of an inch, is left, between the ring and the wall of the recess, to allow the surplus batter to escape without tending to separate, under excessive pressure, the two mould-halves 5. The invention is applied to a machine having a plurality of coacting cores and mould cavities, the surplus batter being squeezed out into a channel 13 connecting all the mould cavities, so that, after baking, all the cones are joined by a shell-like body which, however, is readily detachable from the cones by a very slight pulling or bending action. The cores are positioned relatively to the mould cavities by stops e.g., heads of screws, 11. The rings 9 may be integral with, or attached to, the cores 7.
