[Class 120 (ii)] [Also in Group VIII] Relates to assemblies of thread-handling devices, i.e. bobbin holders or thread-tensioning devices or thread-guides or combinations of such 'devices, for knitting or, other machines. To permit the elements forming such an assembly to be assembled readily or the number of such elements to be increased or decreased . readily, each separate member has means for attaching it to a fixed support and other means for attaching it in end-to-end formation to the next member in such way that the members support one another. In one form, each element comprises a bobbin stand, a threadtensioning device and thread-guides and is supported upon a vertically disposed rod 10. Each bobbin holder comprises a dumb-bell shaped plate 17 of.dished form having holes to receive bolts 18 which connect the plates together and are extended upwardly to form the bobbin-receiving pegs. The thread-guides 24 are mounted upon arms 23 bolted to an anglesection bar 22, and the tensioning device is of the cymbal type with discs 28 pressed together by a spring 30 and is secured upon the same bolt that secures the thread-guide. In another form, Fig. 6, thread-tensioning devices 28 are mounted upon plates 34 bent to rectangular tubular form, one end of the tube being of smaller cross-section than the other. Holes are provided in the two ends of the tubes, so that when, in assembling the devices, one tube is placed within another, a thread-guide 26 can be inserted in the registering holes.
