Abstract

505,391. Temperature-alarms. WOOLNOUGH, G. L., and METROPOLITANVICKERS ELECTRICAL CO.. Ltd. Jan. j 11, 1938, No. 940. [Class 47 (i)] An alarm apparatus for a compressed . air plant comprises a casing 2 having a chamber 3 and a plug 7 adapted to be screwed into some part of the plant, as shown, into an air duct 1. The chamber communicates with the duct by a passage 9 normally sealed by a fusible plug 10, and with the atmosphere by small vents 11. If overheating ariscs and the plug melts, compressed air from the duct enters the chamber and operates a pressureactuated switch 4, to close an external alarm or control circuit 6, and also gives a local audible alarm by escaping through the vents 11.
