Abstract
505,329. Sheep and like clippers. AKTIEBOLAGET SEPARATOR. July 12, 1938, Nos. 20628 and 20629. Convention dates, Aug. 6, 1937 and Oct. 2, 1937. [Class 131] In a sheep and like clipper the cutter 2 is oscillated by a lever 3 pivoted at 8 and engaged by a ball part 4 which is reciprocated by a, compressed-air motor, the exhaust air being discharged through apertures 23 to, prevent wool entering the mechanism. The compressed air is supplied through a flexible tube 18 to a reciprocating tube 5 connecting two pistons 6, 7, the air being alternately admitted to the cylinders 19, 20 by valves 11, 12 on a spindle 10, which also carries valves 13, 14 controlling the discharge from the cylinders, reversal being effected when the spindle contacts with the cylinder end walls. A sliding connection may be provided between the hose 18 and the reciprocating tube 5. Fig. 5 shows a tubular throttle valve 32 in the handle of the machine having apertures 34, the valve being slid axially by a pin-and-slot device 38 when'a sleeve 39 is turned by hand. The air conduit 31 may be connected to the reciprocating tube 5, Fig. 6, by a rigid tube 44 having its ends surrounded by rubber rings 46, 48 forming pivotal joints.
