Abstract
505,219. Table games. MEDLOCK, S. G. Nov. 13, 1937, No. 31226. [Class 132 (ii)] Apparatus for playing an indoor table game comprising a sloping board having alley ways, balls 4 adapted to be hit up and to roll down the board along an alleyway, is characterized in the provision of strikers 21<1> actuated by the player in some of the alleys, said strikers being operative for a time not controlled by the player. The strikers 21<1> are attached to pendulums 21<11> swinging on transverse axis 29, Fig. 7, and when struck by the crank 26 on the plunger-operated pivoted spindle 23 swing freely under the control of the pendulums. An electrical strike-recording circuit comprises a contact adapted to be made by the ball between a tongue 31 on an insulated pin 28 in the pendulum shaft and the striker 21<1>, Fig. 5. To ensure closing of the recording circuit the tongue has a loop 31 forced over the striker 21<1> by the impact this being freed by a projection b beneath the board when the pendulum swings back. A cheat-indicator shows when more than two hazards are actu. ated by three bridge-pieces 40 pressed to close the broken circuit of the cheat indicator, Fig. 6. The balls may be put into play by coin-freed mechanism comprising a shoot 41 the actuation of which depresses a trough 36 to receive the balls, Fig. 10, and simultaneously resets the indicator at neutral by means of an arm 45. To prevent continuous play by holding the trough 36 down a barrier protrudes through the ball passage when depressed preventing release of the balls for play.
